五十嵐　桂(Katsura Igarashi) 雅号：桂（Katsura)

女子美術大学絵画科洋画（油絵）卒。Graduate of Joshibi University of Art and Design, Department of Painting, Western painting (oil painting).

卒業後は大学時代のアルバイトをきっかけに、生活まわりの商品に興味を持ち、タオルメーカー内野株式会社で７年タオルの企画・テキスタイルデザインおよび刺繍のデザインをおこなっていました。
とてもやりがいのある仕事でしたが、生活が変わり、退職。その後、お誘いをうけIT会社に在籍（WEBデザイン、HTMLコーディングおよびグラフィックデザイン、イラスト業務）しながら、個人的に依頼のあったデザイン作業をおこなっていました。
2006年にモビールキャラバンにたちあげより参加して、モビールを作りはじめました。
2008年に依頼が増えて来たので、会社員と並行してKatsura Design Roomの名前で個人事業主になりました。
2017年にそれぞれの活動で進むこととなり、モビールキャラバンは解散。
その後、私は事情があり、積極的な活動はしませんでしたが、2022年10月より活動を再開することになりました。
友人達が勧めてくれて、絵も少しずつ描き始めました。

I became interested in products for daily life when I worked part-time at a jazz cafe during my university years. That is why I started working for towel manufacturer Uchino Co. For seven years I worked in towel planning, textile design and embroidery design. It was very rewarding work, but my life changed and I left. I then joined an IT company (web design, HTML coding, graphic design and illustration work), where I was invited to work. At the same time, I did a bit of design work for personal commissions. In 2006, I joined the Mobile Caravan and started making mobiles. In 2008, I became a sole trader under the name Katsura Design Room alongside my company work. In 2017, the members of Mobil Caravan decided to move on with their own activities and Mobil Caravan disbanded. Due to circumstances, I was not actively involved in the project after that, but I decided to resume my activities from October 2022. My friends encouraged me to start drawing and painting little by little.
